Erin O’Dowd is a singer-songwriter, producer, teacher, and visual artist from Tulsa and Nashville. She describes her music as Cosmic Country x Soulful Americana. Her debut album released in 2018 to the hail of “Best New Music” by American Songwriter, who featured it on their front page, and she was invited to BMI’s Key West Songwriter’s Festival, AmericanaFest, and Woody Guthrie Folk Festival that same year. She’s opened for Kenny Rogers, Terri Hendrix & Lloyd Maines, and Steve Young, and shared the stage with John Moreland, David Amram, Lewis Brice, and John Fullbright. She’s played festivals alongside Leigh Nash, Robert Earl Keen, and Earl Bud Lee. O’Dowd was recently featured on Zac Brown’s Breaking Ground studio sessions alongside Nicki Bluhm and Oliver Wood, and recorded a live session with Tim Easton, Jon Latham, and Aaron Lee Tasjan. Her music has been featured frequently on Lightning 100 and across radio worldwide. Last fall, she was commissioned to throw a Bob Dylan tribute show to promote his upcoming Heaven’s Door Whiskey Distillery. O’Dowd is quickly becoming a fixture in the Nashville Americana scene and becoming known in the Country world for her genre-bridging approach to American Roots Music. She is inspired by old soul legends Dionne Warwick and Carole King, country queens Emmylou Harris and Loretta Lynn, and folk/jazz chanteuses Joni Mitchell and Norah Jones. Her vocals have frequently been compared to Harris, Lynn, and Jones, and she’s contributed harmony vocals to over a dozen albums to date. Erin O’Dowd has the rare talent of quieting even the loudest dive bar, especially when she performs a cappella. Using her guitar as a percussion instrument, and stepping far from the mic, she frequently wows audiences to silence. She has a focus on healing trauma and spreading love and light with her music, as well as storytelling, activism, and good feeling barn-burning honky tonk Rock N Roll. Erin O’Dowd has often been told her music carries the classic feel of the greats... Look out for big things!
